Rather odd church and people for me. I went on the recommendation of a friend. Guess I will stick to a more traditional church.

  • I never felt at home in a church, until I found Unity. It is all positive, all the time. I leave every service feeling restored, moved and connected.

  • My wife wanted me to try Unity but I was reluctant because I was used to very traditional churches. I started by reading their statement of beliefs on the website and was surprised to find that I believed pretty much the same things. I looked for a "doctrine" and couldn't find any. Each person is encouraged to follow their own spiritual path. Then I listened to some of the minister's sermons via the podcasts. I thought "He is a great speaker and I like what he has to say!" So I went. I was surprised that the modern quality of the service didn't put me off, and I was warmly welcomed.

That was a couple of years ago and now I am very involved in the life of the church and have made several good friends. The longer I stay, the more roots I seem to grow. I urge anybody who considers themselves to be spiritual to give this church a try. If you are like I was, a little gun shy of churches in general, then I urge you to attend at least one Unity service. I think you will find it to be a rich experience.

  • I have been attending Unity of Fairfax for just over a year now. I have attended several classes and participated in several activities. I have never found a more welcoming group of individuals in my life. This is a "no guilt" church and just up my alley.. So glad to have joined!

  • I have been attending Unity of Fairfax for many years. After meeting in the choir, and marrying here, my husband and I raised our children at Unity. Unity is based on universal principles and metaphysics, using the Bible as our basic text, but also drawing on truths from other religions and authors as well. We do not have a traditional Christian doctrine, and if you look at the website, under "What is Unity?" and see the 5 Basic Unity Principles you will begin to understand the premise of the Unity Movement. But until you attend a service, you will never know if this is "home" for you. Everyone who stays describes that feeling of coming "home." Our Sunday service feels a little like a traditional church service, but the message is very different. If you consider yourself outside of traditional religion in your belief system, you may find "home" at Unity, too!
